Aspirin Tablets 300 mg – 32 Tablets are an over-the-counter analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory medicine used for the relief of mild to moderate pain, fever, and inflammatory conditions. The active ingredient, acetylsalicylic acid, belongs to the group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Aspirin works by reducing the production of substances in the body that cause pain, inflammation and raised temperature. It is commonly used for the relief of:

• Headache and migraine
• Toothache
• Muscular aches and pains
• Backache and rheumatic pain
• Period pain
• Feverishness and symptoms associated with colds and flu

This pack contains 32 tablets, suitable for short-term use in adults and young people aged 16 years and over.

Adults, the elderly and young people aged 16 years and over:

• Take 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours as required.
• Maximum dose: 8 tablets (2400 mg) in 24 hours.

Administration guidance:

• Swallow tablets whole with water, preferably after food to reduce stomach irritation.
• Leave at least 4 hours between doses.
• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.

• Do not give to children under 16 years unless advised by a doctor.
• If symptoms persist, worsen, or last more than 3 days, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

• Maize starch
• Powdered cellulose

Do NOT take this medicine if you:

• Are allergic to aspirin, other salicylates, or any NSAIDs (e.g. ibuprofen).
• Have or have ever had a stomach ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation.
• Have haemophilia or other bleeding disorders.
• Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
• Are under 16 years of age (risk of Reye’s syndrome).

Warnings & Precautions

• Take with caution if you have asthma, kidney or liver problems, gout, or are elderly.
• Avoid using with other NSAIDs or blood-thinning medicines (e.g. warfarin) unless advised by a healthcare professional.
• Alcohol increases the risk of stomach irritation and bleeding.
• Prolonged use without medical supervision may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, aspirin can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. These may include:

• Stomach irritation, indigestion or heartburn
• Nausea or vomiting
• Increased tendency to bleed or bruise
• Rarely, allergic reactions such as rash, swelling or breathing difficulty

Stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately if you experience black stools, blood in vomit, severe stomach pain, or signs of an allergic reaction.

Overdose Warning

Taking more than the recommended dose can be harmful. In the event of overdose, seek urgent medical attention even if you feel well.

Storage

• Store below 25 °C in a dry place.
• Keep in original packaging.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date shown on the pack.
