Balneum Plus Bath Additive Oil - 500ml

Balneum Plus® Bath Additive Oil 500ml is a medicated bath oil specially formulated to help relieve dry, itchy and eczema-prone skin, including skin affected by eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. It is designed for use during bathing to help cleanse, moisturise and soothe the skin simultaneously.

Balneum Plus® contains soya oil, which helps to replenish lost skin oils and improve hydration, along with lauromacrogols, which have a soothing effect on itchy skin. When added to bath water, it forms a light oil film on the skin, helping to reduce moisture loss, soften dry skin and ease irritation.

Regular use can help reduce itching, dryness and tightness associated with chronic dry skin conditions. Balneum Plus® Bath Additive Oil is suitable for adults, children and infants, making it ideal for family use and long-term dry skin management.

Directions for use:

Bath use:

1. Shake well before use.
2. Add the recommended amount of Balneum Plus to warm (not hot) bath water and mix thoroughly until dispersed.

• Adults: approx. 1 capful (20 ml) for a full bath.
• Children & babies: approx. ¼ capful (5 ml) in a child’s bath.
• Partial bath (hand/foot): about 2.5 ml in a basin or sink.

1. Soak for 10–15 minutes or as advised by a clinician.
2. On leaving the bath, gently pat skin dry with a towel — do not rub, as this can remove the protective oil layer.

Shower use (optional):

• Apply a small amount of Balneum Plus to wet skin, spread gently, then rinse and pat dry.

Frequency:

• Use daily or several times a week as part of your dry skin care routine; frequency may be increased according to severity or clinician advice.

Note: Avoid using soap during bathing with Balneum Plus, as this can remove the protective oil film.

Active Ingredients:

• Soya oil 82.95% w/w – emollient that soothes, moisturises and softens dry skin.
• Lauromacrogols 15% w/w – local anaesthetic agent to relieve itching.

Other Ingredients:

• Propylene glycol (humectant), ascorbyl palmitate, glyceryl stearate citrate, perfume oil (may contain benzyl benzoate, limonene, linalool) and citric acid monohydrate.

Formulation Features:

• Blends readily in bathwater to form an effective emollient film on the skin. 

Important Safety Information:

• For external use only. Do not swallow. If swallowed accidentally, seek medical advice immediately and show the product pack.
• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• Take care entering and leaving the bath/shower — the oil can make surfaces slippery and increase risk of falls.
• Always clean the bath/shower after use, rinsing with hot water to remove residual oil.
• Do not use soap or foaming cleansers with Balneum Plus, as these can reduce its effectiveness.

Allergy & Skin Reaction Warnings:

• Do not use if allergic to soya, peanuts or any listed ingredients.
• Very rarely, allergic skin reactions, reddening, itching or burning may occur; discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional if symptoms persist or worsen.
• Avoid use in acute, infected or broken skin unless advised by a clinician.

Flammability Warning (Emollient Products):

• As with many emollient oils, residues may increase flammability of clothing, bedding and dressings; keep away from naked flames, cigarettes and heat sources and wash fabrics regularly at a high temperature to reduce build‑up.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding:

• Generally considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding when used as directed; consult a pharmacist if uncertain.

Children & Infants:

• Suitable for use by adults, children and infants under supervision; ensure appropriate amounts are used and young children are assisted in and out of baths safely.

Storage:

• Store below 25 °C, protect from direct heat and sunlight, and keep out of sight and reach of children.
