Benadryl Allergy One A Day 10mg - 30 Tablets

Benadryl Allergy One A Day 10mg – 30 Tablets is an antihistamine for all-day (24-hour) allergy relief in a convenient once-daily tablet. It contains cetirizine dihydrochloride 10mg, which helps reduce allergy symptoms caused by histamine.

What it’s used for

• Hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis): sneezing, runny/itchy nose, itchy/watery eyes
• Other allergies such as pet and dust allergies
• Allergic skin reactions, including urticaria (hives) and itch

Who it’s for: Adults and children aged 12 years and over. 

Always read the enclosed leaflet before first use.

Dose

• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Take 1 tablet once a day.
• Do not take more than 1 tablet in 24 hours.
• Not recommended for children under 12 years.

How to take

• For oral use only. Swallow with a glass of water.

Useful safety advice

• Stop taking for 3 days before a skin allergy test, as antihistamines can affect results.
• If symptoms persist or worsen, stop use and seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist. 

Active ingredient (per tablet):

• Cetirizine dihydrochloride 10mg

Other ingredients (excipients):

• Microcrystalline cellulose
• Lactose monohydrate
• Colloidal silicon dioxide (colloidal anhydrous silica)
• Magnesium stearate
• Croscarmellose sodium
• Film coat: hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (E464), titanium dioxide (E171), polyethylene glycol/macrogol (PEG) 

Warnings and precautions

Do not take if:

• You have ever had a bad reaction to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, piperazine derivatives, or any ingredient
• You have serious kidney problems

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if:

• You have kidney problems (you may need a lower dose)
• You are epileptic or at risk of convulsions (fits)
• You have difficulty passing urine
• You are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or planning a baby
• Breast-feeding: do not take during breast-feeding (cetirizine passes into breast milk).

Alcohol and drowsiness

• In most people, this medicine does not cause drowsiness, but rare cases of drowsiness have been reported. If affected, do not drive or use tools/machinery.
• Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.

Contains lactose: if you have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars, seek advice before use.

Sodium: less than 1 mmol sodium (23mg) per tablet (essentially “sodium-free”).

Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common:

• Headache, dizziness
• Drowsiness or tiredness
• Dry mouth, sore throat
• Upset stomach/abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea

Uncommon/Rare (examples):

• Agitation, pins and needles, weakness
• Weight gain, sleep disturbance

Stop taking and seek urgent medical help if you get:

• Sudden severe allergic reaction (rash/hives, swelling, wheezing, breathing difficulty)
• Convulsions (fits), hallucinations, loss of consciousness
• Sudden fever with widespread redness and pustules (possible severe skin reaction)
