Canesten Athlete's Foot Cream - 15g

Canesten Athlete’s Foot Cream 15g is a topical antifungal medicine used to effectively treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), a common fungal skin infection affecting the feet. It helps relieve symptoms such as itching, redness, soreness, cracking and scaling while treating the underlying fungal cause.

The cream contains clotrimazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal agent that works by stopping the growth of fungi, allowing the skin to heal and helping prevent the infection from spreading or returning.

Canesten Athlete’s Foot Cream is commonly recommended in pharmacy practice for:

• Athlete’s foot between the toes or on the sole of the foot
• Mild to moderate fungal skin infections of the feet
• Symptom relief alongside antifungal treatment

The cream formulation is easy to apply and suitable for short-term and continued use as directed to ensure complete treatment.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as advised by a pharmacist.

Directions for use:

• Wash and dry the affected area thoroughly before application
• Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected skin
• Use two to three times daily, or as directed
• Rub in gently until absorbed

Duration of treatment:

• Continue treatment for at least 2 weeks after symptoms have cleared to help prevent recurrence
• Typical treatment duration is 2–4 weeks

Important usage advice:

• Wash hands after application (unless treating the hands)
• Keep the affected area clean and dry
• Avoid sharing towels, socks or footwear

If symptoms do not improve within 2 weeks, seek advice from a pharmacist or GP.

• Benzyl Alcohol
• Cetostearyl Alcohol
• Polysorbate
• Purified Water
• Emollient cream base

• Avoid use on the face unless advised

Possible side effects:

• Mild burning, irritation or redness at the application site

When to seek medical advice:

• If the infection worsens or spreads
• If there is no improvement after 2 weeks
• If you have diabetes, poor circulation or immune system problems
