Product Overview
Antifungal clotrimazole 1% liquid solution with precision dropper for treating fungal skin infections and outer ear infections.
Description
Canesten Solution Clotrimazole 1% is a pharmacy antifungal liquid formulated to treat a variety of common fungal infections of the skin and outer ear. The active ingredient, clotrimazole 1% w/v, belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals and works by disrupting fungal cell membranes, helping stop the growth of fungi and yeasts that cause infections.
Unlike creams, this non-greasy solution with a precision dropper delivers antifungal action directly to hard-to-reach areas such as between toes, skin folds, the scalp, and outer ear infections (otomycosis), where moisture and skin contours make other formulations less effective. It helps relieve uncomfortable symptoms including itching, redness and irritation while supporting resolution of the underlying infection.
This 20ml bottle is compact and ideal for home use or travel, and is suitable for adults and, in many cases, children over 12 years when used as directed by a pharmacist or clinician.
Key benefits
• Antifungal solution for skin and outer ear infections.
• Precision dropper for targeted, hygienic application.
• Easy-apply liquid reaches skin folds and hairy areas effectively.
• Helps ease itching, redness and irritation.
How to Use
Important: Always follow the patient information leaflet supplied with the product and any additional advice from your pharmacist.
- Clean and dry the affected skin area thoroughly before use.
- Apply a thin, even layer of Canesten Solution to the affected skin 2–3 times daily. Gently rub in as directed or until absorbed.
- For outer ear fungal infections (otomycosis), place 2–3 drops into the affected ear canal 2–3 times daily, or as advised by a clinician/pharmacist.
- Continue treatment for at least 2 weeks after symptoms disappear to reduce the risk of recurrence.
- Wash your hands before and after applying the solution to avoid spreading infection.
Note:
• Do not use inside the ear if the eardrum is perforated unless under medical supervision.
• If symptoms do not improve after the full course or worsen, seek professional advice.
