Care Potassium Citrate Mixture - 200ml

Care® Potassium Citrate Mixture 200ml is a urinary alkalinising oral solution used to help relieve the burning pain, stinging and discomfort associated with cystitis and other lower urinary tract irritation.

It works by reducing the acidity of the urine, which helps soothe irritation of the bladder lining and ease uncomfortable urinary symptoms such as:

• Burning or stinging when passing urine
• Urinary urgency or frequency
• Bladder discomfort

Care® Potassium Citrate Mixture provides symptomatic relief only and does not treat the underlying cause of infection. It is suitable for use at the first signs of cystitis symptoms while awaiting medical advice if required.

The liquid formulation allows flexible dosing and is suitable for adults and children when used as directed.

Recommended dosage:

• Adults and children over 6 years:
• 10–20ml, diluted in a glass of water, three times daily

Shake the bottle well before use.

Drink plenty of fluids during treatment.

Do not exceed the stated dose.

If symptoms do not improve within 48 hours, or if they worsen, seek advice from a pharmacist or GP.

Possible side effects are uncommon but may include mild stomach upset, nausea or diarrhoea.

Seek medical advice urgently if you experience:

• Fever, chills or back pain
• Blood in the urine
• Nausea or vomiting
• Symptoms lasting longer than 48 hours
• Recurrent cystitis or cystitis during pregnancy

Important:

Care® Potassium Citrate Mixture does not treat bacterial infection. Antibiotics may be required in some cases.
