Typical Dosing Schedule
CHAMPIX treatment usually lasts 12 weeks, with a gradual dose increase:
Week 1
- Days 1–3: 0.5 mg once daily
- Days 4–7: 0.5 mg twice daily
Week 2 onwards
- Day 8 to end of treatment: 1 mg twice daily
You will normally set a quit date between days 8 and 14 of treatment. In some cases, treatment may be continued for an additional 12 weeks to help prevent relapse.

CHAMPIX has been associated with serious mental health side effects in some people.

- Low mood, depression, agitation, or unusual behaviour
- Suicidal thoughts or behaviour
- Severe skin rash, blistering, or peeling
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing

Driving & Alcohol
CHAMPIX may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or loss of consciousness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you. Alcohol effects may be increased.
