Derbac M Liquid – 150 ml is a pharmacy medicine formulated to treat infestations caused by head lice, pubic lice (crabs) and scabies mites. It contains the active ingredient malathion 0.5% w/w, an insecticidal compound that disrupts the nervous system of parasites, leading to their elimination.

Unlike some alcohol-based treatments, Derbac M Liquid is alcohol-free, helping make it more suitable for individuals with sensitive skin, eczema or asthma. Its liquid emulsion spreads easily over hair and scalp or body surfaces, providing comprehensive coverage where parasites are present.

For Head Lice:

1. Apply to dry hair and scalp, ensuring all areas (roots to tips) are covered with the liquid.
2. Leave to dry naturally in a warm, well-ventilated room.
3. After approx. 12 hours (or overnight), wash hair with shampoo and rinse thoroughly.
4. While hair is wet, use a fine-toothed nit comb to remove dead lice and eggs.
5. Repeat treatment after 7 days to catch any newly hatched lice.

For Pubic Lice (Crabs):

1. Apply liquid to the entire affected skin area, focusing on pubic hair and other coarse hair.
2. Leave on for at least 1 hour (overnight preferred) before washing off.
3. Repeat after 7 days if needed.

For Scabies:

1. Apply evenly to the entire body surface, paying attention to skin folds, between fingers/toes and under nails.
2. Leave on for 24 hours.
3. Wash off and reapply after 7 days if directed. 

Active Ingredient:

• Malathion 0.5% w/w – organophosphate insecticide that targets the nervous system of lice and scabies mites.

Other Ingredients:

• Methylhydroxybenzoate (E218) – preservative

• Propylhydroxybenzoate (E216) – preservative

• Emulsifying wax – formulation stabiliser

• Potassium citrate – pH adjuster

• Citric acid – pH adjuster

• Perfume HT52 – fragrance

• Purified water – solvent base
