Description
DuoDERM Extra Thin 7.5cm x 7.5cm is a sterile, thin hydrocolloid dressing designed for the management of dry to lightly exuding wounds. It combines ConvaTec’s hydrocolloid formulation with a vapour-permeable outer film to help provide an occlusive moist wound environment.
Suitable for (when appropriate within a wound-care plan):
- Chronic wounds: dry to lightly exuding wounds such as leg ulcers and superficial pressure ulcers
- Acute wounds: post-operative wounds, minor burns, abrasions and lacerations
- Can also be used as a secondary dressing (for example, to help secure other wound dressings)
Key features
- Thin, flexible and mouldable for awkward or contoured areas
- Hydrocolloid forms a cohesive gel as it interacts with wound fluid, supporting moist wound management and autolytic debridement where appropriate
- Polyurethane, vapour-permeable outer film (waterproof outer film described on product listings)
- Latex-free
How to Use
For external use only. Use on clean, dry, intact skin around the wound.
- Clean and dry the wound and surrounding skin.
- Remove the backing papers/film, avoiding contact with the adhesive where possible.
- Apply the dressing by gently rolling it over the wound, ensuring it extends around 3cm beyond the wound edges for a secure seal.
- Do not stretch the dressing during application.
- Mould into place using the warmth of your hand. If needed (e.g., difficult areas), secure edges with hypoallergenic tape.
- Change the dressing when it becomes loose, leaks, becomes heavily soiled, or as advised by a healthcare professional.
Removal tip: Lift an edge and peel back slowly. If the gel residue remains on skin, cleanse gently as advised in your wound-care plan.
