EPIMAX Ointment 125g

EPIMAX Ointment 125g is a rich emollient ointment designed to provide long-lasting, intensive relief for very dry skin that needs extra hydration. It helps form a protective barrier on the skin to reduce moisture loss and support the skin’s natural barrier, making it suitable for eczema, psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. EPIMAX describes it as the most intensive relief product in the range, suitable for use during the day, as an overnight treatment, or as a bath additive.

The ointment texture is suited to skin that needs richer, more protective moisturising than a cream or gel. It can be used regularly as part of a daily emollient routine and is especially useful on very dry, rough or uncomfortable skin where lasting hydration is needed. The 125g tub is a convenient size for home use or for keeping on hand for frequent application.

EPIMAX Ointment is listed as SLS-free, lanolin-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, perfume-free and vegan. It can be used directly on the skin, as a body wash in the bath or shower, and as a bath additive, giving flexible everyday use for people managing ongoing dry skin symptoms.

Apply EPIMAX Ointment to the affected skin areas as frequently as required, smoothing gently into the skin in the direction of hair growth. Allow time for any excess to soak in if needed. Adults, elderly people and children may use it as required to manage symptoms. Do not use on the face. Wash hands after use.

For routine skin application:

• Apply regularly to very dry or affected areas
• Reapply as often as needed, especially if skin feels dry or uncomfortable
• Smooth gently onto the skin rather than rubbing vigorously
• Suitable for daytime use or as an overnight emollient treatment

As a body wash:

• Use as required in the bath or shower
• Use in place of ordinary soap or cleansing products where appropriate
• Pat skin dry gently after washing and reapply if needed

As a bath additive:

• Melt about 4g, roughly the size of a £2 coin, in hot water and add to the bath
• Take care, as this can make the bath slippery

Main ingredients:

Liquid paraffin 40% w/w

Yellow soft paraffin 30% w/w

Full ingredients:

Liquid paraffin 40% w/w, cetomacrogol emulsifying wax (contains cetostearyl alcohol and macrogol cetostearyl ether), yellow soft paraffin 30% w/w.

Free from:

SLS, lanolin, parabens, gluten and perfume. Vegan formula.

Do not use EPIMAX Ointment if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. EPIMAX patient information identifies cetostearyl alcohol as a known sensitising ingredient in this product. Rarely, mild skin reactions such as rash may occur. Allergic reactions are also possible. Stop use and seek advice from a doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare professional if irritation, worsening skin symptoms or signs of allergy develop.

Warnings and precautions:

For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product accidentally gets into the eyes, rinse well with water and seek medical advice. Do not use on the face. Speak to a doctor or healthcare professional before use if the skin is broken, badly cracked, infected or bleeding. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Important fire warning:

Do not smoke or go near naked flames. Fabric, clothing, bedding and dressings that have been in contact with this product can burn more easily and present a serious fire hazard.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

No special precautions are required according to the manufacturer’s patient information.

Storage:

Store below 25°C. Do not freeze. EPIMAX states a shelf life of 36 months for 500g/125g tubs and advises using the product within 3 months of opening.
