Product Overview
Foundayo® (orforglipron) tablets are an oral prescription medicine used in adults with obesity or overweight to support weight loss and help maintain weight when used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Foundayo works by influencing appetite regulation, which may help you eat less and reduce your body weight. It is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes when blood sugar is not adequately controlled with diet and exercise, either alone or with other diabetes medicines.
Description
What is Foundayo and what is it used for?
Foundayo contains the active ingredient orforglipron and is a prescription medicine used in adults with obesity or overweight. It influences appetite regulation, which may help you eat less food and reduce your body weight.
Foundayo is used together with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to help with weight loss and maintaining weight. It may be prescribed for adults with:
BMI of 30 kg/m² or greater (obesity), or
BMI of at least 27 kg/m² but less than 30 kg/m² (overweight) when there is at least one weight-related health problem, such as prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, abnormal blood fats, obstructive sleep apnoea, impaired heart function, or a history of heart attack, stroke or blood-vessel problems.
How can Foundayo help with my weight-management problem?
If you are living with obesity or overweight, managing appetite and food intake can be an important part of weight management. Foundayo influences appetite regulation, which may help you eat less and reduce your body weight. It is intended to be used as part of a broader weight-management plan that includes a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Who should not take Foundayo?
Do not take Foundayo if you are allergic to orforglipron or any of the other ingredients in the medicine. Foundayo should not be given to children or adolescents under 18 because it has not been studied in this age group.
What should I tell my doctor before taking Foundayo?
Speak to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist before treatment if you have or have had pancreatitis, severe problems with food digestion or delayed stomach emptying, gallbladder problems, eye or vision problems, severe heart failure, or if you are due to have surgery under anaesthesia. Your healthcare professional should also know if you take insulin, a sulfonylurea or medicines for high blood pressure, as dose adjustments may sometimes be needed.
