Product Overview
Daily proton pump inhibitor tablets with esomeprazole 20 mg for 24-hour relief from frequent heartburn and acid reflux. 7 gastro-resistant tablets for short-term use.
Description
Guardium Acid Reflux Control Tablets 7 are gastro-resistant tablets designed to provide up to 24-hour protection from frequent heartburn and acid reflux. Unlike standard antacids, these tablets contain a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), esomeprazole, that works at the source by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces, helping to relieve symptoms such as burning pain in the chest, acid regurgitation and sour taste associated with acid reflux.
This short-term treatment is intended for adults suffering from frequent heartburn (e.g. ≥ twice weekly) and can be useful in combination with fast-acting antacids for symptom management during the treatment period.
How to Use
Adults aged 18 years and over:
- Swallow one tablet whole with a glass of water once daily, preferably before a meal.
- Do not crush or chew the tablet, as it is gastro-resistant and designed to release in the intestine.
Important UK pharmacy guidance:
- It may take 2–3 days before you feel the full effect of treatment.
- Do not use Guardium for more than 14 days without medical or pharmacist advice.
- If symptoms persist, worsen or you develop additional symptoms, consult your doctor.
- Not suitable for children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
- Discuss with a healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Always read the label before use.
