Hycosan Dual Lubricating Eye Drops - 7.5 ml

Hycosan Dual Lubricating Eye Drops (7.5ml) are sterile, phosphate-free and preservative-free eye drops designed to moisturise the cornea and conjunctiva, help reduce excessive tear evaporation, and stabilise the tear film. This dual-action approach helps relieve symptoms of dry eye disease as well as itching and burning associated with allergy.

Dual-action formula

• Hyaluronic acid 0.05% provides even, long-lasting lubrication of the eye surface.
• Ectoin 2% supports a protective, moisture-binding barrier on the ocular surface and helps stabilise the lipid layer of the tear film to reduce evaporation and irritation from environmental triggers (e.g., pollen, animal hair, house dust).

Suitable for

• Dry, irritated, gritty-feeling eyes
• Dry eye symptoms with allergy-related itching/burning
• People who wear contact lenses (see “How to use”)

For use in the eyes only.

How often

• Adults and children aged 6 years and over: instil 1 drop into each eye 3 times a day.
• If you need to use it more than 10 times per day or symptoms are severe, seek regular advice from an optometrist/ophthalmologist.

Priming (first use)

• Before first use, turn the bottle tip downward and press the base repeatedly until the first drop appears.

Step-by-step application (COMOD® bottle)

1. Remove cap.
2. Hold bottle upside down: thumb on the shoulder, fingers on the base.
3. Pull down the lower eyelid and look up.
4. Avoid touching the tip to eye/skin. Press the base quickly and firmly to release one drop.
5. Close eyes gently to spread the drop evenly.
6. Replace cap immediately; ensure the dropper tip is dry.

Contact lenses

• Can be used while wearing contact lenses; after inserting lenses, wait about 30 minutes before applying to reduce the chance of intolerance reactions with lens-care products.

Using with other eye products

• Leave at least 30 minutes between other eye drops and Hycosan Dual, and use Hycosan Dual last. Eye ointments should be used after Hycosan Dual. 

Composition (per 1ml):

• Hyaluronic acid 0.05%
• Ectoin 2%
• Boric acid
• Borax
• Water for injections

(Phosphate-free and preservative-free.)

Do not use

• If you are hypersensitive/allergic to any ingredient.
• In children under 6 years.
• If any part of the carton seal is broken or damaged before first use.

Possible side effects

• In very rare cases: hypersensitivity, burning, excessive tearing, pain, foreign body sensation, or other temporary local irritation; these generally stop after discontinuing use.
• Temporary blurred vision may occur after application (due to viscosity). Very rarely, temporary headache in sensitive patients.

Important warnings (hygiene & safety)

• Avoid any contact between the bottle tip and your eye/skin to reduce contamination risk.
• Each bottle should be used only by the same person.
• If you do not feel better or feel worse after several days, speak to a pharmacist/optometrist/doctor.
• If symptoms do not improve within 2 weeks, seek advice from an ophthalmologist/optometrist.
• If you get eye pain, marked redness, light sensitivity, discharge, or persistent blurred vision, seek urgent clinical advice (possible infection/injury).

Pregnancy/breastfeeding

• Based on available evidence, may be used in pregnancy and breastfeeding, and in children aged 6+ (as above).
