Hycosan Night Eye Ointment - 5g

Hycosan Night Eye Ointment (5g) is a sterile, preservative-free eye ointment designed to improve the tear film and protect the surface of the eye. It spreads smoothly to form a comfortable, long-lasting protective film, helping relieve burning, itching, dryness and foreign-body (gritty) sensation commonly triggered by dry/air-conditioned environments, smoke, age, side effects of medicines, night driving, or prolonged screen (VDU) use.

The ointment contains vitamin A (retinol palmitate), a physiological component of the tear film, helping it blend well with natural tears and support surface comfort overnight. Because the ointment is thicker than drops, it can cause temporary blurred vision, which is why it’s typically recommended before going to bed.

For use in the eyes only.

How often

• Usually once daily before going to bed.
• For severe dry eye, it may be applied up to three times a day into each eye. If you need it more often, ask a doctor for advice.
• Duration of use is not limited.

How to apply

1. Use only if the carton seal was intact before first use.
2. Remove the protective cap.
3. Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.
4. Hold the tube upright above the eye and apply one small strip of ointment into the space between the eye and lower lid by gently squeezing the tube (avoid touching the eye/skin with the tube).
5. Close the eye gently and blink normally.
6. Replace the cap firmly.

Using other eye medicines

• Do not use at the same time as other ophthalmic medicines. If needed, apply Hycosan Night about 30 minutes after the other eye medicine. 

Each 1g contains: 250 IU retinol palmitate (vitamin A)

Other ingredients: liquid paraffin, light liquid paraffin, wool fat (lanolin), white soft vaseline (white soft paraffin). 

Do not use

• If you are hypersensitive/allergic to any ingredient.
• While wearing contact lenses.
• Directly after eye surgery or in acute injuries of the eye (no clinical studies for this use).

Possible side effects

• Very rare hypersensitivity reactions such as redness, burning, itching eyes or excessive tearing; these improved after stopping use.

Vision warning

• Ointment can cause temporary blurred vision due to its thick consistency. If applied during the day, do not drive, be near traffic, use machinery, or work in unsafe environments until vision is clear.

Hygiene & safe use

• Avoid touching the tube tip to the eye, eyelids or skin to reduce contamination risk.
• For single-patient use only (do not share).

Storage

• Do not store above 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
• Can be used for 6 months after opening. Do not use after the expiry date.
