Hycosan Original Preservative Free Eye Drops - 7.5ml

Hycosan Original Preservative-Free Eye Drops (7.5ml) are sterile, phosphate-free and preservative-free lubricating eye drops designed to improve the lubrication of the eye surface when eyes feel dry, burning or gritty (foreign-body sensation) due to environmental conditions (such as air-conditioning or prolonged screen use) and may also be used to support lubrication after eye procedures.

The formula contains 0.1% hyaluronic acid (as the sodium salt), a substance naturally found in the body. Its viscoelastic properties help form a regular, stable, long-lasting moisturising film on the ocular surface that is not easily washed away by blinking, helping protect from dryness and irritation.

Contact lens friendly: Hycosan Original may be used while wearing contact lenses and is designed to improve comfort without forming crusts or deposits.

For use in the eyes only.

How often

• Generally instil 1 drop into each eye, 3 times a day.
• If you need to use Hycosan Original more frequently, or if symptoms persist for more than 1 week, seek advice from an optometrist/ophthalmologist or pharmacist.

How to apply (COMOD® bottle)

1. Remove the cap.
2. Before first use, turn the bottle tip downward and press the base repeatedly until the first drop appears (priming).
3. Hold the bottle upside down with thumb on the shoulder and fingers on the base.
4. Tilt your head back slightly, pull down the lower eyelid, and press the base quickly and firmly to release one drop.
5. Close your eyes gently to allow the fluid to spread evenly. Replace the cap immediately and ensure the dropper tip is dry.

Contact lenses

• May be used while wearing contact lenses. After inserting lenses, waiting about 30 minutes before applying drops is recommended to reduce the chance of intolerance reactions with lens-care products.

Using with other eye products

• Leave at least 30 minutes between different eye drops, and use Hycosan Original last. Eye ointments should be used after Hycosan Original. 

Composition (per 1ml):

• Hyaluronic acid 0.1%
• Citric acid anhydrous
• Sodium citrate
• Sorbitol
• Water for injections

Preservatives: None (preservative-free).

Phosphates: None (phosphate-free). 

Do not use

• If you are hypersensitive/allergic to any ingredient.
• If any part of the protective seal on the carton is broken or damaged before first use.

Possible side effects

• Very rare: hypersensitivity reactions, burning, excessive tearing, pain, foreign-body sensation, or other temporary local irritation (usually resolves when stopped).
• Temporary blurred vision may occur after use due to the viscosity; very rarely, temporary headache in sensitive patients.

Important warnings (hygiene & safe use)

• Avoid any contact between the bottle tip and the eye/skin/surfaces to reduce contamination risk.
• The bottle is for single-patient use (do not share).
• If you do not feel better or feel worse after several days, speak to a pharmacist/optometrist/doctor.

Storage & in-use period

• Do not store above 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
• Can be used for 6 months after opening. Do not use after the expiry date.
