Product Overview
Migraitan 50mg contains sumatriptan to treat an acute migraine attack (with or without aura). Adults 18–65: take 1 tablet at the first signs of migraine; if symptoms return, a second may be taken after 2 hours. Max 2 tablets in 24 hours. Not for prevention.
Description
Migraitan 50mg Migraine Relief Tablets are used to treat an acute migraine attack (with or without aura). They contain sumatriptan, a “triptan” medicine (5-HT1 receptor agonist).
Migraine is thought to involve temporary changes in blood vessels and natural chemicals in the body. Migraitan works on this process and helps relieve headache and other migraine symptoms such as feeling sick (nausea) and sensitivity to light and sound. Relief can begin from around 30 minutes after taking a tablet.
Important:
- Migraitan is only for migraine. Do not use it for other types of headache, and do not take it to prevent an attack.
How to Use
Always read the leaflet before use.
Who can take it
- Adults aged 18 to 65 only.
- Not for children/adolescents under 18 years.
Dose (Adults 18–65)
- Take 1 tablet as soon as possible at the first signs of a migraine headache.
- If your symptoms start to come back, you may take a second tablet after 2 hours (leave at least 2 hours after the first tablet).
- Swallow whole with water.
- Do not take more than 2 tablets in 24 hours.
- Do not take more than 2 tablets for the same attack.
- If the first tablet does not provide any relief, do not take a second tablet for that attack.
If you use it too often
Using Migraitan too frequently may make headaches worse. If this happens, seek advice.
If you take too many
Taking too much could make you ill. Seek medical advice straight away and take the pack/leaflet with you.
