Product Overview
2mg nicotine gum for those who smoke 20 or fewer cigarettes a day (or light to moderate vapers). Freshmint flavour. Chew-and-rest technique. Max 15 gums per day. 105 pieces.
Description
Nicorette® Freshmint Gum 2mg is a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) used to relieve and/or prevent nicotine withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings when you try to stop smoking tobacco or vaping, or when cutting down the number of cigarettes/e-cigarettes you smoke/vape. It can also be used for temporary abstinence at times when you can’t or don’t want to smoke/vape.
When you chew Nicorette gum, nicotine is released and absorbed through the lining of the mouth. This helps ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings, without giving the “buzz” from smoking/vaping.
Strength guide
- The 2mg gum is suitable if you smoke 20 or fewer cigarettes per day, are a light to moderate vaper, or for step-down use from higher strength gum if needed.
Pack size
- 105 pieces (Freshmint flavour, blister packed).
How to Use
Who can use it
- Adults and children aged 12 years and over
- Do not give to children under 12 years
Dose (2mg)
- Use one 2mg gum as required to relieve cravings
- Use only one piece at a time
- Do not use more than 15 gums per day
How to chew (the Nicorette chew-and-rest technique)
Nicorette gum is not chewed like ordinary chewing gum. Chew correctly so nicotine is released and absorbed through the mouth. If chewed continuously, nicotine may be released too quickly and swallowed, which can irritate the throat, upset the stomach or cause hiccups.
- Chew slowly until the taste becomes strong.
- Rest the gum between your gum and cheek.
- Chew again when the taste has faded.
- Keep chewing like this for about 30 minutes, then dispose of the gum carefully.
Dentures
- The gum may stick to dentures and, rarely, damage them. If this is a problem, other NRT forms (e.g., patches, inhalator, microtabs) may be more suitable.
Stopping smoking/vaping (typical approach)
- Use the gum instead of cigarettes/e-cigarettes when needed, then reduce the number of gums gradually until you stop completely. If you’re finding it difficult to stop using the gum, ask a doctor, pharmacist or nurse for advice.
