Product Overview
Smart reusable insulin pen with dose memory and app connectivity. Designed to deliver precise 0.5-unit dosing for insulin self-administration with Penfill® cartridges.
Description
NovoPen® Echo Plus Blue is a reusable smart insulin pen designed by Novo Nordisk to support precise, reliable insulin self-administration for people with diabetes who require injectable insulin therapy. This device uses 3 ml Penfill® cartridges of Novo Nordisk insulin and provides half-unit (0.5 unit) dosing increments, enabling tailored dosing for both basal and bolus insulin needs.
Unlike traditional reusable pens, the Echo Plus model includes dose memory functionality, recording the time, date and amount of insulin injected for up to several months of data. Using Near Field Communication (NFC) and compatible mobile apps, you can transfer this dosing history to your smartphone or other devices, helping you and your healthcare provider review insulin use alongside glucose data to support personalised diabetes management.
Brand: Novo Nordisk — NovoPen® Echo Plus (Red).
Device Type: Reusable smart insulin pen designed for insulin delivery.
Compatibility: Intended for use with Novo Nordisk Penfill® 3 ml insulin cartridges and NovoFine® single-use disposable needles (sold separately).
How to Use
Important: NovoPen® Echo Plus Red is a medical device. Only use after training by a qualified healthcare professional. Always refer to the official user guide and the Patient Information Leaflet supplied with your insulin and device.
Preparation:

- Turn the dose dial to select the prescribed units (up to 30 units in 0.5-unit steps).
- Clean the injection site as recommended (e.g., with alcohol swab).
- Insert the needle into the skin and press the dose button fully to deliver insulin.
- Hold for a few seconds and then remove and safely dispose of the needle in an approved sharps container.
Dose Memory and Data Transfer:
- After injection, the dose memory display records the dose, time and date of injections.
- Use NFC-capable apps to transfer and review insulin data alongside glucose readings, helping to support personalised care planning.

• Dose dial and internal mechanisms – for precise, incremental dosing (0.5 unit steps).
• Memory module – records dosing data.
• NFC transmitter – for data transfer to compatible apps.

• Allergic or injection site reactions: Although uncommon, watch for local irritation. If persistent, seek advice.
• Training required: This device should not be used without proper instruction. Do not use if you do not fully understand how to operate it.
