Product Overview
Anthelmintic treatment for threadworms (pinworms) with four single-dose orange tablets, suitable for adults and children over 2 years. Convenient family pack.
Description
Ovex Family Pack – 4 Tablets is a pharmacy-medicine anthelmintic designed to treat threadworm (pinworm) infections of the gut, a common parasitic infection seen in children and adults. Each orange-flavoured tablet contains 100 mg mebendazole, a well-established active ingredient that prevents threadworms from absorbing glucose, depriving them of energy and causing them to die, with dead worms naturally cleared in the stools over the following days.
This family pack contains 4 single-dose treatments, making it ideal for treating multiple household members at the same time and reducing the risk of reinfection. Threadworms spread easily within households, and effective control often requires treating all eligible family members concurrently alongside hygiene measures.
How to Use
Important UK pharmacy guidance:
This is a single-dose treatment intended for adults and children aged 2 years and over. Discuss with your pharmacist or doctor if you are unsure whether this treatment is suitable.
- Adults and children (2 + years): Take one tablet only as a single dose.
- Tablets may be chewed, swallowed whole or crushed and mixed with liquid for easier administration in children.
Family treatment:
- Treat all household members at the same time, even if only one person shows symptoms, to minimise reinfection.
Repeat dosing:
- In some cases, if reinfection is suspected or persistent symptoms occur after a few weeks, your pharmacist may advise a second dose after approximately 2 weeks.
Important:
- Not suitable for children under 2 years unless advised by a doctor.
- Always read the product label and leaflet before use.
