Product Overview
Omeprazole 20 mg gastro-resistant tablets for up to 24-hour relief from heartburn and acid reflux. Short-term treatment in a 14-tablet pack.
Description
Pyrocalm Control 20 mg – 14 Pack consists of gastro-resistant tablets containing omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms, including heartburn, acid regurgitation and acid reflux in adults aged 18 years and over. The PPI mechanism reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach, easing symptoms that occur when acid rises into the food pipe.
Unlike fast-acting antacids, Pyrocalm Control is designed to provide relief for up to 24 hours after each dose, making it suitable for people experiencing frequent or persistent symptoms. It is not intended for immediate relief but rather short-term therapy, and it may take 2–3 days to feel the full benefit.
How to Use
Adults aged 18 years and over:
- Take one 20 mg tablet once daily, usually in the morning.
- The tablet can be taken with or without food.
- Swallow whole with a glass of water — do not chew or crush the tablet, as it is gastro-resistant and must release in the intestine.
Recommended duration:
- Use for up to 14 days. If symptoms persist beyond this period, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
- It may take 2–3 days before improvement is noticed; antacids may be used concomitantly for symptom relief in the interim.
Important UK pharmacy guidance:
- Do not exceed one tablet per day.
- Not suitable for children or adolescents under 18 years.
- Always read the enclosed leaflet and follow advice from your doctor or pharmacist if unsure.
