Rabeprazole 10mg GR - 28 Tablets

Rabeprazole Sodium Gastro-Resistant Tablets are a prescription-only medicine used to reduce excess stomach acid. Rabeprazole belongs to a group of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which work by decreasing the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

This treatment is commonly prescribed for acid-related conditions such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), heartburn, and stomach or duodenal ulcers. It may also be used as part of combination therapy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection, or to manage rare conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Rabeprazole Sodium is intended for adult use only and should always be taken exactly as prescribed by a doctor.

• Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet, as it is gastro-resistant.
• The usual adult dose varies depending on the condition being treated:
• GORD / heartburn: Typically 10–20mg once daily
• Stomach or duodenal ulcers: Usually 20mg once daily for several weeks
• H. pylori eradication: Taken with antibiotics as prescribed
• This medicine is not suitable for children.
• If symptoms do not improve or worsen, consult your doctor.

Active ingredient:

• Rabeprazole sodium
• 10mg tablets (equivalent to 9.42mg rabeprazole)
• 20mg tablets (equivalent to 18.85mg rabeprazole)

• Magnesium oxide (E530)
• Hydroxypropylcellulose (E463)
• Magnesium stearate (E572)
• Ethylcellulose (E462)
• Hypromellose phthalate
• Talc (E553b)
• Titanium dioxide (E171)
• Iron oxides (E172) (colouring, strength dependent)

Do Not Take This Medicine If:

• You are allergic to rabeprazole or any of the ingredients
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding

Warnings & Precautions

• Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you:
• Have liver problems
• Have osteoporosis or are at risk of fractures
• Are taking medicines such as atazanavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole, or methotrexate
• Are due to have a blood test (Chromogranin A)
• Long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures or low magnesium levels.
• This medicine may cause drowsiness in some people.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, rabeprazole can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. These may include:

• Headache or dizziness
• Diarrhoea or stomach pain
• Nausea or vomiting
• Skin rash or itching

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

• Severe allergic reactions (swelling of the face, difficulty breathing)
• Severe skin reactions
• Unexplained bruising or bleeding
• Persistent or bloody diarrhoea
