Product Overview
2% minoxidil scalp solution for hereditary hair thinning in women 18–65. Apply 1ml twice daily to a dry scalp; continued use is needed to maintain regrowth.
Description
Regaine® For Women Regular Strength is a 2% w/v minoxidil cutaneous (scalp) solution used to treat common hereditary hair loss (female pattern hair loss) in women aged 18–65 years. It helps prevent further hair loss and support hair regrowth by aiding blood flow to hair follicles in the scalp.
Who it’s most suitable for
- Works best for general hair thinning of the scalp (rather than sudden/patchy loss).
- You’re more likely to see benefit if hair loss is more recent and the thinning area is smaller.
Pack size
- 60ml bottle, intended to last about 30 days when used as directed.
How to Use
Use exactly as described in the leaflet.
Dose
- Apply 1ml to the affected area twice daily, leaving at least 12 hours between applications.
- Your hair and scalp should be thoroughly dry before applying.
How to apply (practical steps)
- Part the hair so the thinning area of scalp is visible.
- Using one of the supplied applicators, apply 1ml evenly to the affected scalp area.
- Gently spread with fingertips; wash hands after use.
- Do not apply more than twice daily. Using more will not improve results and may increase side effects.
Important
- For external use on the scalp only. If accidentally applied elsewhere, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
- If you stop using it, any regrowth may gradually be lost.

Do not use
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
- If you are under 18 or over 65.
- If you’ve ever had an allergic reaction to minoxidil, ethanol, or propylene glycol.
- If your hair loss is sudden/unexpected, due to childbirth, drug treatment, the cause is unknown, or you have total baldness/complete loss of body hair.
- If you have high blood pressure (even if not treated).
- If you have scalp conditions (including psoriasis or sunburn), a shaved scalp, or you are using certain medicated scalp products (e.g. dithranol, tretinoin, corticosteroids) or products containing petrolatum, or you have a dressing/bandage on the scalp.
Important warnings
- Flammable liquid: keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces and do not smoke during use. Keep container tightly closed; store in a cool, well-ventilated place.
- Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, broken skin and sensitive areas. Ethanol may sting on damaged skin and may irritate eyes; rinse with lots of cool tap water if contact occurs.
- Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation.
- Stop using and seek urgent medical advice if you develop symptoms that could suggest unwanted absorption into the bloodstream, such as chest pain, rapid heartbeat, faintness/dizziness, swollen hands/feet, or persistent redness/irritation of the scalp.
Other notes
- Keep treated areas away from children; contact with minoxidil may cause unwanted hair growth in a child.
- If you experience dizziness or low blood pressure, do not drive or use machinery.
