Description
Scanpor Microporous Adhesive Tape 2.5cm x 5m is a high-quality, non-woven microporous surgical tape designed to secure dressings and provide comfortable fixation on the skin. It conforms to Drug Tariff specifications and is intended to be easier, and therefore less painful, to remove than many standard surgical tapes.
This tape is colophony-free (colophony/rosin is a known allergen in some adhesive products), making it a useful option for people who have had reactions to other tapes.
Key features
- Breathable microporous structure to help allow perspiration through
- Non-woven carrier that flexes with movement for comfortable wear
- Hypoallergenic, skin-friendly acrylic adhesive with strong hold
- Suitable for first aid, allergy testing and elder care use-cases
How to Use
For external use only. Use on clean, dry, intact skin.
- Wash and dry hands.
- Clean and dry the skin around the area to be taped (tape adheres best to dry skin).
- Tear or cut the required length of tape.
- Apply over the edge of a dressing or to secure light tubing, smoothing down gently.
- Avoid stretching the tape during application to reduce skin tension.
- To remove: peel back slowly, keeping the tape low and close to the skin while supporting the skin with your free hand (helps reduce discomfort).
Use checks (good practice)
- Replace if the tape becomes loose, wet/soiled, or if the skin becomes irritated.
- If using for allergy testing, follow the healthcare professional’s instructions.

Side Effects & Warnings
- Do not apply too tightly. Remove and reapply more loosely if you notice throbbing, tingling, numbness, colour change, or swelling below the taped area.

- Avoid using directly on broken, infected, or heavily weeping skin unless advised by a healthcare professional as part of a dressing plan.
- Seek medical advice if a wound shows signs of infection (increasing pain, heat, swelling, spreading redness, pus, fever) or if symptoms do not improve.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place and keep the roll clean between uses.
