Schollmed Once Weekly Fungal Nail Treatment 5% w/v Nail Lacquer is a topical antifungal medicine used to treat fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) affecting fingernails or toenails. It is suitable for mild to moderate infections, particularly where one or two nails are affected and the nail base (matrix) is not involved.

The lacquer contains amorolfine, a clinically proven antifungal agent that works by destroying the fungi responsible for nail infection. Once applied, the lacquer penetrates the nail plate and forms a protective film, delivering antifungal activity directly to the site of infection while helping prevent the spread of fungus.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as advised by a pharmacist or GP.

Before application:

• Remove any nail polish or cosmetic nail products
• File down the affected area of the nail using a nail file (use a separate file for infected nails only)
• Clean and dry the nail thoroughly

Application instructions:

• Apply the nail lacquer evenly to the entire surface of the affected nail using the applicator
• Allow the lacquer to dry for approximately 3–5 minutes

Treatment schedule:

• Apply once weekly
• Continue treatment until the infected nail has grown out completely
• Fingernails: approximately 6 months
• Toenails: approximately 9–12 months

Important usage advice:

• Do not use cosmetic nail varnish or artificial nails during treatment
• Consistent, long-term use is essential for effective treatment
• If there is no improvement after 3 months, seek medical advice
