Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night - 16 Capsules

Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night – 16 Capsules is a dual-action cough and congestion medicine designed to provide effective, round-the-clock relief from chesty coughs, mucus build-up and nasal congestion associated with colds and flu.

The pack contains:

• Day capsules, which help loosen and clear mucus while relieving congestion without causing drowsiness
• Night capsules, which help relieve chesty cough symptoms at bedtime and support restful sleep

Both formulations contain guaifenesin, an expectorant that works by thinning and loosening mucus, making coughs more productive and easing chest congestion. The night capsules also contain an ingredient to help reduce coughing during sleep.

Suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over, Sudafed Mucus Relief Day & Night is intended for short-term use.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over:

Daytime:

• Take 1 yellow Day capsule, up to three times daily.

Night-time:

• Take 1 blue Night capsule at bedtime only.

Maximum dose:

• Do not exceed 4 capsules in 24 hours (3 Day + 1 Night).

UK pharmacy-aligned guidance:

• Swallow capsules whole with water.
• Leave at least 4–6 hours between doses.
• Do not take more than one Night capsule in 24 hours.
• Always read the enclosed Patient Information Leaflet before use.

Day Capsules – Active Ingredients

• Guaifenesin – expectorant to loosen and clear mucus
• Phenylephrine hydrochloride – nasal decongestant to relieve blocked nose and sinuses

Night Capsules – Active Ingredients

• Guaifenesin – expectorant
• Diphenhydramine hydrochloride – antihistamine to help relieve cough and aid sleep

Other Ingredients:

• Gelatin capsule shell
• Glycerol
• Colourings
• Purified water

Warnings & Precautions

• Night capsules may cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery after taking the night dose.
• Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
• Do not take with other cough, cold or flu medicines containing similar ingredients.

Do NOT take this medicine if you:

• Are allergic to guaifenesin, phenylephrine, diphenhydramine, or any other ingredient.
• Have severe high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, or prostate problems without medical advice.
• Are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or have taken them within the last 14 days.
• Are under 12 years of age.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. These may include:

• Drowsiness (night capsules)
• Dizziness or headache
• Dry mouth
• Nausea or stomach upset
• Rare allergic reactions such as rash or swelling
