Wegovy® (Semaglutide) FlexTouch® Injection is a once-weekly prescription weight management treatment designed to help adults and older with obesity, and certain adults who are overweight with weight-related health conditions. It works by reducing appetite, increasing feelings of fullness, and helping control food cravings, making it easier to consume fewer calories and achieve sustainable weight loss when combined with a healthy diet and increased physical activity. Wegovy is also approved to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke in eligible adults with obesity or overweight and established cardiovascular disease.
What is Wegovy?
Wegovy is a prescription-only weight management medicine containing semaglutide, a medication that belongs to a class known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. GLP-1 is a naturally occurring hormone released after eating that helps regulate appetite and food intake. Wegovy mimics this hormone, helping your brain recognize feelings of fullness and reducing hunger signals throughout the day.
