Description
Softpore Adhesive Surgical Dressing (6cm x 7cm) is a sterile island dressing designed to protect wounds while providing comfortable, secure fixation. It features a highly absorbent, non-woven viscose pad to help manage exudate and support a moist wound-healing environment, with a soft, breathable backing to allow airflow during wear.
Suitable for low to moderately exuding wounds, including:
- Surgical incisions / post-operative wounds
- Minor cuts and grazes
- Abrasions
- Minor burns
Key features
- Latex-free, gentle adhesive border with rounded corners for comfort and secure fixation
- Breathable and conforming to support movement
- Water-repellent outer layer (helps protect from light splashes)
- Packaged with overlapping release papers to support aseptic, easy application
How to Use
For external use only. Single-use dressing.
- Wash hands and prepare a clean working area.
- Clean the wound as appropriate and pat the surrounding skin dry (adhesion is reduced on wet or oily skin).
- Open the pouch carefully. Avoid touching the pad area.
- Remove the release paper and apply the dressing with the absorbent pad centred over the wound.
- Smooth down the adhesive border from the centre outwards to reduce creases and improve seal.
- Change the dressing as needed (for example if it becomes wet-through, soiled, loose, or as directed by a healthcare professional).
When to seek advice
- If symptoms are not improving, or you notice signs of infection (increasing pain, heat, swelling, spreading redness, pus, fever), seek medical advice promptly.
