Description
Anusol Plus HC Suppositories are a rectal medicine used to provide effective relief from internal haemorrhoids (piles) and associated symptoms such as itching, swelling, soreness, inflammation and discomfort.
The suppositories contain a combination of ingredients that work together to:
- Reduce inflammation and itching (hydrocortisone)
- Soothe and protect irritated tissue
- Help reduce discomfort and promote healing

How to Use
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as advised by a pharmacist or GP.
Directions for use:
- Use one suppository twice daily (morning and evening)
- Insert gently into the rectum, preferably after a bowel movement
Duration of use:
- Use for up to 7 days only
Important usage advice:
- Wash hands before and after use
- Do not exceed the recommended dose
- If symptoms improve before 7 days, complete the course unless advised otherwise
- If symptoms persist after 7 days, seek medical advice

- Hydrocortisone Acetate 0.5% w/w
- Zinc Oxide
- Bismuth Salts
- Balsam Peru

Side Effects & Warnings
Do not use Anusol Plus HC Suppositories:
- If you are allergic to hydrocortisone or any of the ingredients
- If you have untreated bacterial, fungal or viral infections in the anal area
- For longer than 7 days unless advised by a healthcare professional
Warnings & precautions:
- For rectal use only
- Not recommended for children
- Prolonged use of corticosteroids may cause skin thinning
- Avoid use if you have rectal bleeding unless advised by a doctor
Possible side effects (uncommon):
- Mild irritation or burning sensation
- Allergic skin reactions (rare)
Stop use and seek medical advice if irritation worsens, bleeding occurs or symptoms do not improve.
