Product Overview
Hirudoid Cream 50g is a topical medicine used to help reduce bruising, swelling and inflammation, and to relieve discomfort associated with superficial vein conditions. Suitable for adults and children when used as directed.
Description
Hirudoid Cream 50 g is a topical medicinal product used to help reduce bruising, swelling and inflammation following injury, trauma or surgery. It is also indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with superficial vein conditions, such as pain, heaviness and tenderness.
The active ingredient, heparinoid, works by improving local blood flow and helping the body reabsorb blood clots and inflammatory fluids under the skin. This supports faster resolution of bruises and helps ease discomfort and tightness in affected areas.
Hirudoid Cream is commonly used for:
- Bruising and contusions
- Swelling following knocks, strains or sprains
- Sports injuries
- Post-injection or post-surgical bruising
- Superficial thrombophlebitis and varicose vein discomfort
The cream formulation is non-greasy, absorbs easily into the skin and is suitable for use on most areas of the body.
How to Use
Adults, the elderly and children:
- Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2–3 times daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Application guidance:
- Gently massage the cream into the skin unless the area is painful, in which case apply lightly without rubbing.
- Wash hands before and after application.
- Use regularly for best results.
UK pharmacy guidance:
- For external use only.
