Calprofen Ibuprofen Oral Suspension +3 Months - 100ml

Calprofen Ibuprofen Oral Suspension 3+ Months 100ml is an ibuprofen-based oral medicine used to provide effective relief from pain, inflammation and fever in babies and children from 3 months of age (weighing over 5 kg).

Ibuprofen works by reducing inflammation and lowering raised body temperature, making Calprofen particularly suitable where pain is associated with swelling or inflammation.

It is commonly used to help relieve:

• Fever (high temperature)
• Pain following routine vaccinations (from 3 months)
• Teething pain
• Toothache
• Headache
• Earache
• Sore throat
• Aches and pains associated with colds and flu

This formulation is sugar free, has a pleasant strawberry flavour, and is supplied in a convenient 100ml bottle, ideal for short-term use or travel. A measuring device is included to support accurate dosing.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as advised by a pharmacist or GP.

Dosage (based on age):

• 3–6 months (over 5 kg):
• 2.5ml, up to 3 times in 24 hours
• 6–12 months:
• 2.5ml, up to 3–4 times in 24 hours
• 1–3 years:
• 5ml, up to 3 times in 24 hours
• 4–6 years:
• 7.5ml, up to 3 times in 24 hours
• 7–9 years:
• 10ml, up to 3 times in 24 hours
• 10–12 years:
• 15ml, up to 3 times in 24 hours

Administration:

• Shake the bottle well before use
• Measure the dose carefully using the supplied oral syringe or spoon
• Can be given with food or milk to reduce stomach upset

Important dosing advice:

• Leave at least 6 hours between doses
• Do not exceed the recommended dose
• Do not use for more than 3 days without medical advice

Active ingredient:

• Ibuprofen 100mg per 5ml

Other ingredients include:

• Maltitol liquid
• Glycerol
• Xanthan gum
• Strawberry flavour
• Purified water

Important warnings:

Do not use:

• In babies under 3 months or weighing less than 5 kg
• If your child has had an allergic reaction to ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs
• If your child has a history of stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding or severe kidney problems

Warnings & precautions:

• Consult a pharmacist or GP before use if your child has asthma, dehydration, kidney problems or is taking other medicines
• Stop use and seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve

Possible side effects (uncommon):

• Stomach pain, nausea or diarrhoea
• Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling or wheezing (rare but serious)
