Nurofen for Children - Strawberry - 100ml

Nurofen for Children Strawberry Suspension 100ml is an ibuprofen-based oral medicine designed to provide effective relief from pain, inflammation and fever in babies and children from 3 months of age (weighing over 5kg).

Ibuprofen works by reducing inflammation and lowering temperature, helping to ease discomfort caused by common childhood conditions such as:

• Fever (high temperature)
• Pain following routine immunisations
• Teething pain
• Toothache
• Headache
• Sore throat
• Earache
• Minor aches and pains associated with colds and flu

The sugar-free, colour-free suspension has a pleasant strawberry flavour, making it easier to give to children. The 100ml bottle is a convenient size for short-term use or travel, and comes with an oral syringe for accurate dosing.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as advised by a pharmacist or GP.

Dosage (based on age):

• 3–6 months (over 5kg):
• 2.5ml up to 3 times in 24 hours
• 6–12 months:
• 2.5ml up to 3–4 times in 24 hours
• 1–3 years:
• 5ml up to 3 times in 24 hours
• 4–6 years:
• 7.5ml up to 3 times in 24 hours
• 7–9 years:
• 10ml up to 3 times in 24 hours
• 10–12 years:
• 15ml up to 3 times in 24 hours

Administration:

• Shake the bottle well before use
• Measure the dose carefully using the supplied oral syringe
• Can be given with or without food

Important dosing advice:

• Leave at least 6 hours between doses
• Do not exceed the stated dose
• Do not use for more than 3 days without medical advice

Active ingredient:

• Ibuprofen 100mg per 5ml

Other ingredients include:

• Maltitol liquid
• Glycerol
• Xanthan gum
• Strawberry flavour
• Purified water

Important warnings:

• Do not give with other ibuprofen or NSAID-containing medicines
• Do not exceed the recommended dose

Do not use:

• In babies under 3 months or under 5kg
• If your child has had an allergic reaction to ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs
• If your child has a history of stomach ulcers, bleeding disorders or severe kidney problems

Warnings & precautions:

• Consult a pharmacist or GP before use if your child has asthma, kidney problems, dehydration or is taking other medicines
• Sugar-free but contains maltitol, which may cause a mild laxative effect if taken in excess
• Stop use and seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or do not improve

Possible side effects (uncommon):

• Stomach discomfort, nausea or diarrhoea
• Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling or wheezing (rare but serious)
