Product Overview
Pack of 100 GlucoRx CarePoint 29g 12 mm sterile pen needles with electropolished 3-bevel design for smooth, comfortable injections compatible with major insulin and GLP-1 pen devices.
Description
GlucoRx CarePoint Pen Needles – 29g 12 mm (Pack of 100) are sterile, single-use pen needles specifically engineered for subcutaneous delivery of insulin and other injectable therapies, such as GLP-1 analogues. The 29 gauge (29g) needle diameter combined with a 12 mm length provides reliable tissue penetration while maintaining comfort and consistent medication delivery.
These CarePoint needles are crafted with an electropolished stainless-steel finish and 3-bevel tip, promoting smoother insertion and reduced friction compared with non-polished needles — helping many users achieve a gentler injection experience. They feature universal compatibility with the majority of insulin pen devices on the market.
Brand: GlucoRx CarePoint — part of the GlucoRx diabetes care range.
Pack Size: 100 sterile pen needles.
Needle Gauge / Length: 29g (fine gauge) × 12 mm (penetration depth).
Intended Use: Compatible with most major insulin and GLP-1 pen devices, including pens by Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi, Becton Dickinson, Owen Mumford and others.
How to Use
- Prepare Hands: Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before preparing the injection to reduce contamination risk.
- Attach Needle: Remove the cap from your insulin or GLP-1 pen. Select a new GlucoRx CarePoint 29g 12 mm pen needle and carefully attach it to the pen.
- Prime Device: Prime the pen by selecting a small test dose (commonly ~2 units) and pressing the release button while holding the pen upright — ensure liquid appears at the needle tip.
- Select Dose: Dial your prescribed dose on the pen device.
- Injection Site: Choose an appropriate injection site (abdomen, outer thigh, upper arm or buttocks) and rotate sites regularly for optimal absorption and to reduce tissue irritation.
- Inject: Insert the needle at a 90° angle and press the dose button firmly. Count to 10 seconds before removing the needle to ensure the full dose is delivered.
- Disposal: After injection, remove the used needle and dispose of it immediately in a designated sharps bin in line with UK clinical waste guidance. Never reuse or recap used needles.
Note: Always follow the specific manufacturer instructions provided with your injectable pen device and adhere to clinical guidance from your healthcare professional.
Ingredients
As a medical device accessory, GlucoRx CarePoint Pen Needles do not contain medicinal ingredients in the pharmacological sense. They are manufactured from high-grade, biocompatible materials designed for sterile, controlled injection:
• Sterile stainless-steel needle — 29g, precision engineered for consistent delivery.
• Electropolished surface — smooth finish to enhance needle glide and reduce resistance upon skin entry.
• Triple-bevel tip — 3-angled sharp point optimised for minimal tissue trauma.
• Medical-grade plastic hub and protective cap — maintain sterility until use and ensure safe attachment to pen devices.
These materials together support safe and comfortable subcutaneous injections when used with compatible pens.
Side Effects & Warnings
Safety Warnings & Precautions
• Single-Use Only: GlucoRx CarePoint pen needles are sterilised and intended for single use only. Reuse increases infection risk, dulls the needle and can compromise medication delivery.
• For Subcutaneous Use: These needles are designed specifically for subcutaneous injection of insulin or other injectable therapies. Do not use for intravenous or intramuscular routes unless advised by a clinician.
• Safe Disposal: After use, place the needle into an approved sharps bin in line with UK clinical waste protocols. Do not place used needles in general household waste, and avoid recapping by hand.
• Storage: Store needles in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
• Allergy or Sensitivity: Discontinue use and seek advice if you have known sensitivity to stainless-steel alloys or any component materials.
Potential Local Effects
• Mild Discomfort: Some users may experience mild pain, tingling or fleeting discomfort at the injection site — common with subcutaneous injections.
• Local Irritation: Redness, slight bleeding or minor bruising may occur; these effects are typically transient with correct technique.
• Infection Signs: If persistent redness, warmth, swelling or discharge occurs at the injection site, discontinue use and consult a pharmacist or healthcare professional for evaluation.
