Product Overview

AboutPropecia (finasteride)
\nPropecia (finasteride) is used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss on the vertex and the anterior mid-scalp area. Male pattern hair loss is a common condition in which men experience thinning of the hair on the scalp. Often, this results in a receding hairline and/or balding on the top of the head. Propecia is for use by men only and should not be used by women or children.

How to takePropecia (finasteride)

One tablet a day on an ongoing basis. If you stop taking it you're likely to start losing your hair again.

How long does it take to work?

When used to treat male pattern baldness you should notice the effects and stop losing your hair within three to six months. Nine out of ten men find notice visible results over a 5 year period. Propecia works the best on the back of your scalp or the vertex. After 2 years of treatment:
 • 99% of men had visible results (growth or no further hair loss)
 • 66% had hair growth
 • 33% had no further hair loss
 • 1% had a visible decrease of hair
2 year study based on a 24 month study of 535 men taking Propecia. After 5 years of treatment: 90% of men had visible results (growth or no further hair loss).
 • 48% had hair regrowth with Propecia
 • 42% had no further hair loss with Propecia
 • 10% had a visible decrease of hair
5 year study based on a 24 month study of 279 men taking Propecia. Results based on global photographic assessment of the top of the head by an independent panel of dermatologists. Unfortunately, no studies have shown Propecia can cause re-growth of hair in front of the frontal hairline.
