How can Fucidin Cream help my skin infection?
If your skin has become infected with bacteria, you may notice symptoms such as a weeping or crusty area, swelling or inflammation. Fucidin contains fusidic acid, an antibiotic that works against the bacteria responsible for the infection.
By applying Fucidin Cream directly to the affected skin, the medicine acts at the site of the bacterial infection. This can help treat conditions such as impetigo and infected cuts, grazes, dermatitis and spots.
Is Fucidin Cream suitable for everyone?
Fucidin Cream should not be used if you are allergic to fusidic acid or any of the other ingredients in the medicine.
You should speak to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before using Fucidin, particularly if you are applying it near the eyes or on a child's skin. Using the cream for a long time or in large amounts can increase the chance of side effects and may make your skin more sensitive to the medicine.
