Gaviscon Double Action Tablets - 48 Tablets

Gaviscon Double Action Chewable Tablets 48 are a dual-action antacid formulation designed to deliver rapid and long-lasting relief from symptoms of excess stomach acid, including heartburn, acid reflux, acid regurgitation and indigestion. These chewable tablets combine antacid components that neutralise excess gastric acid with sodium alginate, a seaweed-derived ingredient that creates a protective “raft” over the stomach contents to help reduce the upward movement of acid into the oesophagus. This dual mechanism provides soothing comfort where it’s needed most.

The mint flavour makes them pleasant to chew and convenient for on-the-go relief after meals or whenever symptoms occur. Gaviscon is a well-established and trusted brand in the UK for over-the-counter relief of heartburn and indigestion.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over:

• Chew thoroughly before swallowing.
• When symptoms occur, take 2–4 tablets after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day.

Important:

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.

• Not recommended for children under 12 years unless directed by a healthcare professional.

Active Ingredients (per chewable tablet):

• Sodium alginate 250 mg – forms a protective barrier (alginate raft) over stomach contents.
• Sodium bicarbonate 106.5 mg – supports acid neutralisation.
• Calcium carbonate 187.5 mg – antacid that neutralises excess stomach acid.

Other Ingredients: May include:

• Xylitol, mannitol (E421), copovidone, magnesium stearate, macrogol 20 000, acesulfame-K, aspartame (E951) (sweetener), mint flavour, carmoisine lake (E122).

• Are taking other medications, especially those where absorption can be affected by antacids (e.g., certain antibiotics, thyroid hormones, iron salts — allow a 2-hour interval).
