Guardium Tablets - 14 tablets

Guardium Acid Reflux Control 20 mg – Pack of 14 are gastro-resistant tablets formulated to provide long-lasting relief from frequent heartburn and acid reflux. Each tablet contains 20 mg esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces, helping to address the cause of discomfort instead of merely masking symptoms. Guardium gets to work within about 1 hour and can provide up to 24 hours of symptom protection per dose, making it ideal if you experience frequent heartburn (twice or more per week).

This product is part of the Guardium range by the makers of Gaviscon, trusted for digestive health support across the UK market. 

Adults aged 18 years and over:

• Take one tablet once daily with a glass of water, at about the same time each day.
• Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew — it is designed to resist stomach acid and release in the small intestine.

Important UK pharmacy guidance:

• Effects may take 2–3 days to become noticeable — this product is for short-term acid control, not immediate symptom relief.
• Do not use Guardium for more than 14 days without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
• If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 14 days, seek medical advice.
• Not suitable for children or adolescents under 18 years. 

Active Ingredient (per tablet):

• Esomeprazole 20 mg (as a gastro-resistant form) — a proton pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid production to provide up to 24 hour relief from reflux-related symptoms.

Other Ingredients (excipients):

• Contains lactose and sucrose; always read the product leaflet for a full excipient list and any allergens listed.
• Tablets are gastro-resistant, designed to resist breakdown in the stomach and dissolve in the intestine.

Possible Side Effects

Guardium is generally well-tolerated when used as directed. Like all medicines, side effects may occur, although not everyone will experience them. Common or reported side effects include:

• Diarrhoea, constipation or flatulence
• Nausea or vomiting
• These effects are usually mild and transient. If side effects persist or worsen, stop use and seek advice from your pharmacist or doctor.

Warnings & Precautions

• Experience unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, persistent vomiting or black tarry stools, which may indicate a more serious condition.
