Product Overview
Preservative-free sodium hyaluronate 0.1% eye drops for long-lasting relief from dry, burning or gritty eyes. 10ml COMOD bottle.
Description
Hylo-Tear is a sterile, preservative-free and phosphate-free lubricating eye drop solution containing sodium hyaluronate 0.1% (a naturally occurring substance found in the eye and body). It forms a stable, long-lasting moisturising film on the surface of the eye to help relieve dryness, burning, itching and “sand/gritty” sensations.
What it’s used for
- To improve lubrication of the eye surface in eyes that are dry, burning or have foreign-body sensations due to environmental conditions (for example air-conditioning, wind, smoke, dust) and after eye interventions where tear secretion may be reduced.
- Helpful for symptoms linked to screen use and prolonged visual tasks, where the tear film can break up more quickly.
Contact lens friendly
Hylo-Tear may be used while wearing contact lenses and is designed to be comfortable without forming crusts or deposits.
Pack size
- 10ml COMOD bottle (approximately 300 drops; a small amount remains due to the system design).
How to Use
Always use as directed in the leaflet or as advised by your pharmacist/optometrist/doctor.
Usual dose
- Instil 1 drop into each eye, 3 times a day.
- If you need to use it more frequently, or if symptoms persist or worsen for more than 1 week after first use, seek advice from an eye specialist/doctor.
How to apply (SOP-style)
- Wash hands.
- Remove the cap. Before first use, hold the bottle tip down and press the base repeatedly until the first drop appears.
- Hold bottle upside down: thumb on the shoulder, fingers on the base.
- Tilt head back slightly, pull down the lower eyelid and press the base to release one drop. Avoid touching the tip to your eye/skin.
- Close eyes gently to spread the drop evenly. Replace the cap immediately and ensure the dropper tip is dry.
Using with other eye medicines
- Leave at least 30 minutes between different eye drops; use Hylo-Tear last.
- Eye ointments should be used after Hylo-Tear.
Contact lenses
- If you use lens care products, to reduce the chance of intolerance reactions, wait about 30 minutes after inserting contact lenses before applying Hylo-Tear.
After opening
- Use for up to 6 months after opening, then discard.
