JuniorSTAR 3.0 ml 0.5 Unit Insulin Pen – Blue is a reusable insulin delivery device designed for people with diabetes requiring subcutaneous insulin injections. The pen facilitates precise dosing in half-unit increments (0.5 U) from 1 to 30 units, making it particularly suitable for paediatric and adult users who need small, accurate doses.

The compact blue pen is compatible with 3 ml U-100 insulin cartridges from Sanofi, including Lantus®, Apidra®, Admelog® and Trurapi®, allowing multiple injections from a single cartridge until empty or until 28 days have passed after first use. 1. Prepare: Wash hands thoroughly and dry before preparing an injection. Confirm that you have the correct insulin cartridge for your prescription.
2. Insert Cartridge: Remove the cap, unscrew the cartridge holder, and insert a Sanofi U-100 3 ml insulin cartridge. Ensure expiry date and insulin type match the prescribed regimen. Screw the holder back in place securely.
3. Attach Needle: Always attach a new sterile pen needle before each injection (sold separately). Remove protective caps carefully and secure the needle to the pen.
4. Safety Test: Perform a safety test before dosing by selecting a small test dose (commonly ~2 units) and ensuring insulin is seen at the tip of the needle. Tap the cartridge to remove air bubbles if needed.
5. Select Dose: Turn the dosage selector to your prescribed dose. JuniorSTAR selects doses in 0.5 unit steps using the dose window display.
6. Inject: Choose an approved injection site (abdomen, thigh, upper arm or buttocks), insert the needle subcutaneously, and press the injection button fully. Hold for about 10 seconds to ensure the full dose is delivered.
7. Remove Needle: After injection, remove the needle and dispose of it into a designated sharps container. Replace the cap on the pen for storage.

• Device Integrity: Do not use a pen that is cracked, damaged, or not functioning correctly. Replace damaged devices promptly.

Potential Effects Related to Insulin Use
