Maloff Protect 250mg/100mg – 36 Tablets is a pharmacy-only antimalarial medicine containing chloroquine phosphate and proguanil hydrochloride. This dual-action combination is used for the prevention (prophylaxis) and treatment of malaria only in areas where the malaria parasite remains sensitive to this regimen.

When taken as directed, Maloff Protect works by killing malaria parasites in the blood, helping to reduce the risk of developing malaria during travel. Because malaria risk and drug resistance vary by destination, suitability must be assessed by a pharmacist or healthcare professional before supply.

For malaria prevention (prophylaxis):

• Start 1 week before travel to the malarial area.
• Take the dose once weekly, on the same day each week, while in the area.
• Continue for 4 weeks after leaving the malarial area.

For malaria treatment:

• Dosing and duration differ and must be specifically advised by a healthcare professional.

Administration advice:

• Take tablets with food or milk to reduce stomach upset.
• Swallow whole with water.
• If vomiting occurs within 1 hour of a dose, seek medical advice as a replacement dose may be required.

Active ingredients (per tablet):

• Chloroquine phosphate 250mg
• Proguanil hydrochloride 100mg

Other ingredients (excipients) may include:

• Lactose monohydrate
• Maize starch
• Magnesium stearate
