Nasacort Allergy Nasal Spray – 30 Sprays

Nasacort Allergy Nasal Spray 30 Sprays is an over-the-counter corticosteroid nasal spray indicated for the treatment and relief of nasal symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, including seasonal hay fever and perennial allergies. The formulation contains triamcinolone acetonide, a corticosteroid that works locally in the nose to reduce inflammation in the nasal passages and provide symptom relief from sneezing, nasal itching, runny nose and nasal congestion caused by exposure to allergens such as pollen, dust mites and animal dander.

This spray is designed for once-daily use with a metered dose delivery system providing consistent dosing and up to 24-hour relief when used regularly. Relief may begin within a few days of consistent use, but full effect may take up to 3–4 days.

Active Ingredient: Triamcinolone acetonide 55 mcg per spray

Adults (18 years and over): Shake the bottle gently before use.

• Blow your nose gently to clear the nasal passages before application if necessary.

• Remove the protective cap and prime the spray (press the nozzle several times until a fine mist is produced) if it’s first use or if unused for several days.

• Insert the nozzle into one nostril, close the other nostril with a finger, and spray while breathing in gently; repeat in the other nostril.

• The usual starting dose is two sprays in each nostril once daily. Once symptoms are controlled, the dose may be reduced to one spray in each nostril once daily.

• Use at the same time each day for consistent symptom control.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Active Ingredient:

• Triamcinolone acetonide 55 micrograms per metered spray – a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in nasal tissues to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis.

Other (Excipients): may include microcrystalline cellulose, carmellose sodium, polysorbate 80, purified water, glucose anhydrous, benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate, hydrochloric acid/sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, as per product leaflet standards.

Warnings & Precautions

• For intranasal use only. Do not spray into eyes or mouth.

• Not recommended for children under 18 years without professional advice.

• Seek medical advice before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are taking other corticosteroids.

• Consult a clinician/pharmacist if you have an untreated nasal infection, recent nasal surgery or injury, untreated ulcers or severe nasal irritation.

• Do not use continuously for more than three months without consulting a clinician.

• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Store below 25 °C and avoid excessive heat.

Possible Side Effects

As with all corticosteroid nasal sprays, side effects may occur, although not everyone will experience them. Common or reported effects include:

• Nasal irritation or dryness

• Sore throat

• Headache

• Nosebleeds (epistaxis)

• Unusual taste or smell changes

• Rarely, allergic reactions such as rash or breathing difficulties – seek immediate medical attention if these occur.
