Radian B Ibuprofen 5% Gel - 30g

Radian B Ibuprofen 5% Gel – 100g is a topical anti-inflammatory gel applied to the skin to help relieve pain and reduce inflammation. It contains ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

What it’s used for

Radian B is used to help relieve:

• Backache
• Rheumatic and muscular pain
• Sprains and sports injuries

Why choose a gel?

Applied directly to the affected area for targeted relief where you need it most, without taking tablets.

Pack size: 100g tube (also available in other sizes; not all pack sizes may be marketed). 

Always use as directed in the leaflet.

Who can use it

• Adults, the elderly and children over 14 years: suitable to use as directed.
• Children under 14 years: do not use unless your doctor tells you to.

How much to apply

• Squeeze out 5 to 10 cm of gel (contains 50 to 100 mg ibuprofen) and gently rub into the affected area until absorbed.
• Repeat as needed every 4 hours, up to 4 times in 24 hours.
• Wash your hands after each application.

How long to use

• Contact a doctor if symptoms worsen at any time or do not improve after 2 weeks.

Do not use with plasters or other dressings.

Active ingredient:

• Ibuprofen 5% w/w

Other ingredients:

• Hydroxyethylcellulose, sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, purified water

Contains benzyl alcohol (1% w/w) which may cause mild local skin irritation (allergic reactions). 

Do not use if you:

• Are allergic to ibuprofen or any ingredients.
• Have ever had an allergic reaction (including asthma, rhinitis or urticaria) caused by aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.
• Have kidney failure.
• Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have:

• Kidney problems, peptic ulcer, asthma, or previously had a bad reaction to aspirin/ibuprofen.

Important precautions

• For use on unbroken skin only. Keep away from irritated or broken skin, eyes, nose and sensitive areas.
• Avoid excessive sunlight on the treated area (risk of photosensitivity).
• Fire risk: do not smoke or go near naked flames. Fabric that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard (washing may reduce build-up but not remove it completely).
• Tell a healthcare professional if you are taking aspirin or other NSAIDs (may increase side effects).
• Pregnancy/breast-feeding: ask for advice before use; avoid in the last 3 months of pregnancy and use in the first 6 months only if clearly necessary and advised.

Possible side effects

Stop using and seek urgent advice if you get: sudden wheeziness, breathing difficulty, swelling of face/lips, widespread rash/itching, or severe skin peeling/blistering.

Other reported effects include: application-site irritation/rash/itching, tummy pain/indigestion, asthma symptoms in people with asthma/allergies, very rare kidney failure, and skin sensitivity to light.

Serious skin reactions (including Stevens-Johnson syndrome/TEN, DRESS, AGEP) have been reported with ibuprofen; stop use and seek medical attention if symptoms occur.

Storage: keep out of sight and reach of children. Store below 25°C and replace cap tightly after use.
