Product Overview
Steroid-based nasal spray for adults with hayfever/allergic rhinitis. 100 sprays of beclometasone dipropionate provide anti-inflammatory relief from nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing and itch.
Description
Beconase Allergy Nasal Spray – 100 Sprays is a nasal corticosteroid spray indicated for the treatment and prevention of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (hayfever and allergy) symptoms in adults aged 18 years and over. Its active ingredient, beclometasone dipropionate, is a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory action that works locally in the nasal passages to reduce swelling, irritation and mucus production, helping clear congestion and relieve sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes and sinus discomfort.
Unlike oral antihistamines, Beconase acts where symptoms start - directly in the nose and sinus tissues. With regular use twice daily, it can provide up to 24 hours of allergen symptom control.
How to Use
Adults (18 years and over) only:
- Shake the bottle gently before use.
- Blow your nose gently to clear the nostrils before spraying.
- Tilt your head slightly forward and insert the nozzle just into one nostril.
- Spray firmly while breathing in gently through the nose.
- Repeat once or twice per nostril, usually twice daily (morning and evening).
- After symptoms improve, your pharmacist may advise reducing to one spray per nostril twice a day.
Important UK pharmacy guidance:
- Use regularly for optimal control; this medicine reaches full effect over several days of consistent use.
- Do not exceed 8 sprays in a 24-hour period without professional advice.
- Not suitable for children or adolescents under 18 years without specific pharmacist/medical direction.
