Beechams All In One Cold and Flu Relief Tablets - 16s

Beechams All in One Tablets are used for the short-term relief of colds, chills and flu with chesty coughs. Symptoms relieved include: headache, shivers, aches and pains, blocked nose and painful sinuses, catarrh, sore throat, and a chesty, productive cough.

This triple-action formula contains:

• Paracetamol to relieve pain and reduce temperature (fever)
• Guaifenesin (an expectorant) to loosen phlegm and relieve a chesty cough
• Phenylephrine hydrochloride (a decongestant) to unblock the nose and sinuses to help you breathe more easily

Pack size: 16 tablets.

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as advised by your pharmacist.

For oral use

• Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Swallow 2 tablets every 4 hours as needed.
• Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours.
• Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours.
• Do not take for more than 5 days without asking your doctor.
• Do not give to children under 12 years.

Important: If you take too many tablets, seek medical advice immediately, even if you feel well (risk of delayed, serious liver damage).

Active ingredients (per tablet):

• Paracetamol 250mg
• Guaifenesin 100mg
• Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 5mg

Other ingredients:

Lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, maize starch, stearic acid, colloidal anhydrous silica, purified talc, povidone, potassium sorbate (E202), hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), polyethylene glycol.

Contains lactose (a sugar): if you have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars, ask a doctor/pharmacist before use. 

Key warnings

• Contains paracetamol. Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine.
• Do not take with any other flu, cold, decongestant products or cough suppressants.
• This product may cause dizziness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery.

Do not take if you:

• Have ever had an allergic reaction to paracetamol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine hydrochloride, or any ingredient
• Have kidney or liver problems (including alcoholic liver disease), overactive thyroid, diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease
• Have phaeochromocytoma or glaucoma
• Are taking tricyclic antidepressants, or are taking/have taken MAOIs within the last 2 weeks
• Are taking beta-blockers (e.g., atenolol)
• Have an enlarged prostate

Speak to a doctor/pharmacist before use if you:

• Have a blood vessel disease such as Raynaud’s phenomenon
• Have asthma or chronic cough, or heart/circulation disease
• Have liver/kidney problems, or you are taking prescribed medicines, particularly metoclopramide/domperidone, ergotamine/methylsergide, colestyramine, blood-pressure medicines, stimulants/appetite suppressants, depression medicines, digoxin, or anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin)
• Are taking flucloxacillin or are severely unwell (e.g., sepsis), malnourished or drink alcohol heavily (rare risk of metabolic acidosis with prolonged regular paracetamol in certain situations).
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding (seek advice before use).

Possible side effects

Stop taking and seek urgent medical advice if you develop:

• Allergic reactions (rash/itching, swelling of mouth/face, shortness of breath)
• Skin rash/peeling or mouth ulcers
• Breathing problems (more likely if this has happened with other painkillers)
• Unexplained bruising/bleeding, recurring fevers/infections, nausea with loss of appetite, or yellowing of eyes/skin
• Visual disturbance (rare; more likely with glaucoma), fast/irregular heartbeat, or difficulty passing urine

Storage

Do not store above 25°C. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
