Description
Brulidine Cream – 25g is an antiseptic cream containing dibrompropamidine isetionate 0.15% w/w. It belongs to a group of medicines called antiseptics and can help kill certain types of bacteria and fungi to support the treatment of minor skin problems.
Used to treat:
- Cuts and grazes
- Minor burns
- Other minor skin infections
- Nappy rash
- Rashes affecting the moustache and beard areas (sycosis-type rashes)
- Outer ear infections (otitis externa)
- Ringworm of the scalp and other superficial fungal infections
Pack size: 25g tube.
How to Use
Always read the leaflet before use.
Adults:
- Wash your hands before each application.
- Apply a pea-sized amount to the area to be treated, either directly onto the skin or on a light dressing.
- Wash your hands again after use (unless treating the hands).
- Most people use it 2–3 times a day.
Elderly and children: No specific dose recommendations in the leaflet.
If you forget an application: Apply when remembered unless it’s nearly time for the next one. Do not apply a double amount.

Active ingredient:
- Dibrompropamidine isetionate 0.15% w/w
Other ingredients:
- Castor oil (virgin)
- Cetostearyl alcohol
- Polyethylene glycol 600 monostearate
- Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218)
- Silicone MS Antifoam A
- Purified water
Side Effects
Do not use
- If you are allergic to dibrompropamidine or any of the ingredients.
Important warnings
- Do not use for more than a few days at a time. Prolonged use can interfere with healing.
- The cream should not be used for long periods on young children (prolonged use may interfere with healing and can cause skin problems in infants).
- If you have previously had allergies to creams/ointments, seek advice before use.
- Pregnancy: if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, ask for advice before using (avoid unless considered essential).
Contains (may cause reactions)
- Methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218): may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed)
- Castor oil: may cause skin reactions
- Cetostearyl alcohol: may cause local skin reactions (contact dermatitis)
Possible side effects
Stop using and seek advice if you get:
- Rash, itching or redness at or around the treated area
- Rash, itching or redness on fingers/hands after using the cream
