Description
Deep Heat Max Strength – 35g is a non-greasy, pain-relieving cream applied to the skin for the relief of muscular pains and stiffness.
It is used for relief of:
- Backache and lumbago
- Sciatica (pain in the lower back and thigh)
- Fibrositis (muscle tenderness or stiffness)
- Rheumatic pain (in muscles, tendons, joints or bones)
- Bruises
- Sprains
Maximum strength formula: contains methyl salicylate 30% w/w and menthol 8% w/w to provide a warming, soothing effect at the site of pain.
How to Use
Always read the leaflet before use.
Who can use it: Adults and children over 5 years.
Directions:
- Always try on a small area first.
- Gently massage a thin layer into the affected area until rubbed in.
- Apply 2–3 times daily.
- Do not use more than 3 times in one day.
- Wash hands immediately after use to avoid transferring to sensitive areas such as lips or eyes. If this happens, wash away with plenty of clean water.
- Do not cover with bandages, plasters or dressings (it is safe to cover with clothing).
If too much is used: wipe off excess with a tissue.
If swallowed (adult or child): contact a doctor or hospital immediately.
If symptoms do not improve: see your doctor.
Ingredients
Active ingredients:
- Methyl salicylate 30% w/w
- Menthol 8% w/w
Other ingredients: sorbitan stearate, polyoxyethylene hexadecyl ether, glyceryl stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, poloxamer 407, water.
Pack size: 35g tube.
Side Effects & Warnings
Do not use Deep Heat Max Strength
- If you are allergic to any ingredients.
- If you are allergic to painkillers such as aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.
- On children under 5 years of age.
- On broken or inflamed skin.
- In the eyes or other sensitive areas (rinse with plenty of clean water if accidental contact occurs).
- Do not take by mouth (skin use only).
Speak to a doctor before use if you
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Have asthma.
- Are taking medicines that thin the blood or prevent clots (including aspirin).
Important ingredient warning
This medicine contains sodium lauryl sulfate which may cause local skin reactions (such as stinging/burning) or increase skin reactions caused by other products used on the same area.
Possible side effects
More likely if you have sensitive skin, or if used in hot weather or after a hot bath:
- Temporary skin redness
- Burning sensation
- Rashes
- Skin burns or blisters
Stop using and tell your doctor if you experience excessive skin irritation or other unwanted effects. Side effects can also be reported via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
Storage
Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25°C. Do not use after the expiry date.
