Dermol Wash - 200ml

Dermol Wash – 200ml is a protective antimicrobial emollient wash developed as a soap substitute to help cleanse, soften and protect dry, sensitive or problem skin, including areas affected by eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis or itchiness. Unlike ordinary soaps and shower gels, it does not foam or strip the skin of essential natural oils, helping preserve the skin’s moisture barrier while providing gentle antiseptic support.

Dermol Wash combines emollient oils to hydrate the skin with antimicrobial agents to help manage bacteria that can exacerbate irritation and itching. It can be used regularly in place of traditional soaps, and may also be applied as a leave-on emollient after cleansing.

Suitable for all ages, including children and adults, and can be used on the face and body. 

Directions for use:

1. Turn the pump top anti-clockwise to unlock and prime if required.
2. Apply a small amount of Dermol Wash to wet skin at the sink, in the bath or shower.
3. Gently massage with a soft washing action — the gel will not foam or lather.
4. Rinse thoroughly and pat the skin dry with a soft towel (avoid vigorous rubbing, which can exacerbate dry skin).
5. For additional moisturising benefit, re-apply a thin layer to dry skin areas and allow to absorb.

UK pharmacy guidance:

• Use as a replacement for ordinary soap, shower gels or cleansers.
• Suitable for daily washing and routine hand-washing. 

Key Active Antimicrobial & Emollient Ingredients:

• Liquid paraffin 2.5% w/w – emollient that forms a moisture-retaining barrier
• Isopropyl myristate 2.5% w/w – skin-conditioning emollient
• Benzalkonium chloride 0.1% w/w – antimicrobial antiseptic
• Chlorhexidine dihydrochloride 0.1% w/w – antimicrobial antiseptic

Other ingredients:

• Cetostearyl alcohol
• Macrogol cetostearyl ether (cetomacrogol 1000)
• Phenoxyethanol
• Purified water
• This fragrance-free, non-foaming emulsion is formulated to help reduce dryness and irritation without harsh detergents. 

Warnings & Precautions

• For external use only.
• Avoid getting Dermol Wash in the eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
• Turn off the pump and secure after use.
• Store below 25°C and keep out of sight and reach of children.

Possible Side Effects

Dermol Wash is generally well tolerated; however, very rare reactions may occur:

• Local skin reactions (redness, irritation or itching) especially if used as a leave-on in skin folds.
• Allergic reactions to chlorhexidine-containing products have been reported rarely (e.g., swelling, rash).

Stop using and seek medical advice if:

• The condition worsens or does not improve after regular use.
• Signs of a severe allergic reaction occur (swelling of the face, lips, throat, difficulty breathing).

Special Safety Advice

• Products containing paraffin may increase flammability of clothing or bedding; avoid naked flames and smoke if product is on skin or fabric.
• Wash clothing and bedding regularly at high temperature to reduce paraffin build-up.
