Dulcolax Tablets - 100 Tablets

Dulcolax® Tablets – 100 Tablets are a well-established stimulant laxative used for the short-term relief of occasional constipation.

They contain bisacodyl, which works by stimulating the natural movement of the bowel (peristalsis). This helps move stools through the bowel more effectively and encourages a bowel movement. Dulcolax® is particularly suitable when constipation is caused by sluggish bowel activity, such as changes in diet, reduced mobility, travel, or short-term illness.

When taken at bedtime, Dulcolax® Tablets are designed to work overnight, usually producing a bowel movement within 6–12 hours. This 100-tablet pack is suitable for households, carers, or individuals who may require repeat short courses, while remaining intended for occasional use only.

Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not chew, crush, or take with milk or antacids, as this may affect how the tablets work.

Recommended dosage (unless otherwise advised):

• Adults and children over 10 years:
• 1–2 tablets once daily, preferably at bedtime

Do not exceed the stated dose.

Dulcolax® Tablets are for short-term use only. If constipation persists for more than one week, seek advice from a pharmacist or GP.

• Do not use if you have intestinal obstruction, bowel perforation, severe abdominal pain of unknown cause, severe dehydration, or inflammatory bowel disease.

• Consult a pharmacist or GP before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, elderly, lactose intolerant, or taking other medicines.

Possible side effects may include abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, nausea, dizziness or discomfort, particularly with higher doses.

Important warnings:

• Prolonged or excessive use of stimulant laxatives may lead to dependence or electrolyte imbalance.
• Stop use and seek medical advice if constipation is persistent, worsening, or accompanied by vomiting, rectal bleeding, unexplained weight loss or severe abdominal pain.
