Mackenzies Smelling Salts For Head Cold And Catarrh Relief

Mackenzies Smelling Salts are a traditional remedy used for the symptomatic relief of catarrh and head colds, where the mucous membranes of the head and throat are inflamed and thick phlegm is produced.

The bottle contains white granules soaked in liquid which release a sharp, aromatic vapour (from eucalyptus oil and ammonia) to help you feel clearer and breathe more comfortably when you’re blocked up.

Pharmacy-style tips (safe use):

• Keep the bottle upright and briefly waft vapour towards the nose rather than taking long, deep inhalations.
• Replace the cap promptly after use to reduce accidental spills and preserve strength.

Active ingredients (per bottle):

• Eucalyptus oil 0.539g
• Ammonia liquor 880/890: at least 8.82g

Other ingredients:

• Glycerol, soft soap, tapioca, water.

Do not use:

• In children under 3 months old.
