Product Overview
A protective barrier cream with 30% medical-grade Leptospermum (Manuka) honey to help defend at-risk skin from moisture and friction.
Description
Medihoney Barrier Cream is a protective moisture barrier designed to help maintain the skin’s natural barrier function, moisture balance and skin pH. It can be applied to intact (unbroken) skin that is at risk of breakdown from moisture, body fluids and friction.
Formulated with 30% antibacterial Leptospermum (Manuka) honey, this barrier cream forms a protective layer to help reduce the risk of skin damage associated with:
- Incontinence and moisture exposure (e.g., urine/faeces under pads)
- Skin folds and chafing/friction/shear
- Peri-wound protection (helping protect intact skin around wound edges from irritation caused by exudate and dressings)
- Frequent washing where skin becomes dry, sore or prone to irritation
Free from added colour or fragrance, and commonly listed as free from lanolin, parabens, steroids and mineral oils.
How to Use
For external use on skin only.
- Cleanse the area gently and pat dry.
- Apply a thin, even layer to intact, at-risk skin (for example: under incontinence pads, around skin folds, around wound edges on intact skin, or where friction occurs).
- Use up to 3 times daily or as required.
- Reapply after bathing/washing or at each dressing change if the skin is being cleansed or the barrier is being removed.
Practical tips:
- A little goes a long way. Rub in gently, do not apply thickly.
- If using under pads or dressings, apply to the skin first and allow a moment to settle before reapplying the pad/dressing.
- Suitable for use on children (use as directed and avoid contact with eyes).
