Topical anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving gel for muscular pain and stiffness, sprains/strains and rheumatic or non-serious arthritic pain. For ages 12+. Apply 5–15cm up to 4 times daily.
Description
Movelat Gel – 125g is a mild to moderate anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) gel for use on the skin. It contains mucopolysaccharide polysulphate (MPS) 0.2% and salicylic acid 2.0%, and helps provide relief from:
- Muscular pain and stiffness
- Sprains and strains
- Pain due to rheumatic and non-serious arthritic conditions
The gel is colourless and is designed to be gently massaged into the affected area
How to Use
External use only. Do not swallow. Always use as directed.
Who can use it
- Adults and children aged 12 years and over
- Do not use in children under 12 years
How much to apply
- The amount depends on the size of the area being treated.
- Apply 2 to 6 inches (5–15cm) of gel and gently massage into the affected area.
- Use up to 4 times a day. Do not exceed this dose.
Important use notes
- Before first use, pierce the tube seal using the spiked top of the cap.
- Wash hands immediately after use (unless treating the hands).
- Some people may experience discomfort, especially with sensitive skin, hot weather, or after a bath.
- If symptoms do not improve or get worse, seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist.
If swallowed accidentally
Contact a doctor or hospital straight away. Possible symptoms include rapid breathing, ringing in the ears, deafness, light-headedness or sweating.
Ingredients
Active ingredients:
- Mucopolysaccharide polysulphate (MPS) 0.2% w/w
- Salicylic acid 2.0% w/w
Other ingredients:
Isopropyl alcohol, monoethanolamine, carbomer, disodium edetate, polyethylene glyceryl-oleate, rosemary oil (contains citral, eugenol, geraniol, linalool, citronellol and limonene), purified water.
Side Effects & Warnings
Do not use Movelat Gel if:
- You are allergic to MPS, salicylic acid (or other aspirin-like medicines) or related painkillers called NSAIDs (this is particularly important if you have asthma)
- You are allergic to any of the other ingredients
- You have broken skin, infected skin or eczema
- On large areas of skin
- On or near sensitive areas such as the mouth, eyes, or ano-genital region
Warnings and precautions
- For external use only. Do not swallow.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Talk to a doctor/pharmacist before use if you: are pregnant or breast-feeding, have asthma, have pre-existing kidney damage, are using prescribed medicines, or if symptoms do not improve/worsen.
- Stop using if irritation or other unwanted effects occur.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Do not use during the first three months or last three months of pregnancy, or on the breast area during breast-feeding.
Other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you use coumarin anticoagulants (blood thinners such as warfarin), as Movelat Gel may affect how they work.
Possible side effects
Rarely, in sensitive individuals: redness, burning sensation, or rash. Stop use and speak to a doctor or pharmacist if these occur.
Fire safety warning
Do not smoke or go near naked flames. Fabric that has been in contact with this product can burn more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing may reduce build-up but may not remove it completely.
Storage
Store below 25°C. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
